Getting Started
KittyLog uses AI to turn your GitHub activity into polished, reader-friendly changelogs — automatically. Add a repo, pick a schedule or trigger, and KittyLog summarizes commits, groups changes, and prepares notes for your hosted page. Review them before publishing or enable automatic publishing in your repository settings.
Start free with 3 public personal repositories — no credit card required. Private and organization repositories require Plus or higher. Before connecting GitHub, you can see a live example of the published result.
1. Connect GitHub
Choose Start free with GitHub on the homepage. Sign in through GitHub, then grant the KittyLog app access to the repositories you want to connect.
2. Connect a Repository
Open the Changelogs page and choose Connect Repository. Select your repository, then choose a customer or developer audience. KittyLog suggests tag grouping when tags exist, or a daily schedule otherwise. Grouping, timing, filters, writing style, and AI options are available under Optional customization.
3. Choose How to Publish
On Audience & publishing, choose Manual approval, Publish after 24 hours, or Publish immediately. Manual approval is selected by default for new repositories, so the first generated entries stay as drafts. Choose Review setup, check the summary, and connect. Existing repositories connected by another owner keep their settings.
4. Generate Your First Update
Complete setup to open your repository. KittyLog automatically starts backfilling missing changelogs; wait for generation to finish, then open the Changelogs tab. Tag mode needs tags; scheduled modes summarize commits for the selected period. Your chosen trigger creates future entries automatically.
5. Review & Publish
Open the repository’s Changelogs tab, read the generated entry, and use Edit to make changes. Save your edits, then select Publish if it is a draft. If review was off, the entry may already be published.
Repository Not Listed?
- In Connect Repository, use Configure GitHub App access to check that the KittyLog app is installed for the correct account or organization and has access to the repository.
- For an organization, ask an organization owner to approve the installation if required, then return to KittyLog and refresh the repository list.
- Private and organization repositories require Plus or higher. Free supports 3 public personal repositories; check your plan's limits if you cannot add another repository.
